Experienced Welder/Fabricator required

TC Engineering Glossop Limited has been established for over 40 years as a manufacturer of quality light to medium fabrications with the added benefit of a fully equipped machine shop integral to the business. We now have an exciting opportunity for a skilled fabricator to join the Glossop based team who can add to the strength and depth of the company.

The Role;

• Full time, experienced fabricator
• MIG, MMA & TIG welding
• Marking out and cutting using PLASMA & oxy acetylene
• Fabricating in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium materials
• Rolling drums, tanks and hoops on powered and manual rollers
• Cutting sheet materials on 3mtr guillotine
• Folding and bending material on hydraulic press brake 3mtr/200 tonne
• Repairing items that have suffered from corrosion
• Fabricating frames, platforms, guards, brackets, supports etc
• Ideally suited to someone who has been a fabricator for at least 7-10 years

Essential Skills

• Welding knowledge of a range of materials, thicknesses from 1mm up to 50mm
• Ability to read, and understand, engineering drawings
• Experience of working in a fast paced engineering fabrication workshop
• Organised and tidy approach to work with good communication skills
• Flexible and confident to tackle complex work
• Competency in operating overhead cranes
• Good attention to detail and pride in the finished product
• Lifting & slinging knowledge, inc MS, STST & Aluminium
• Familiarity with engineering Health & Safety requirements

Desirable Skills

• Driving licence & FLT licence
• Experience of development for hoppers and tundishes etc
• Welding cast iron, and high grade stainless steels

Salary depending on experience, hours of work 39 hours per week

Overtime available during busy periods
